Gogolin

Gmina Gogolin, located in the Opole Voivodeship, is an urban-rural municipality with its seat in the town of Gogolin, surrounded by numerous localities. It was established with the town of Gogolin and nine village councils (sołectwa), covering an area of over 10,000 hectares. The municipality is characterized by industrial, residential, and agricultural development. The area’s history is enriched by mining traditions linked to the limestone and cement industries, as well as extraction plants that played a significant role in the region. Architecturally, Gogolin blends urban structures with traditional rural farmsteads, reflecting contemporary demand for housing through investments in new homes. Culturally, Gmina Gogolin draws from the region’s multicultural heritage, with official German names for selected localities that highlight its connection to German culture. The municipality is also active internationally, cooperating with partners from Germany and the Czech Republic, facilitating cultural exchange.
