Gomunice is a rural commune located in the Łódź Voivodeship, within the Radomsko County, with its administrative seat in the village of Gomunice. Historically, from 1975 to 1998, the commune was part of the Piotrków Voivodeship. As of June 30, 2010, the commune had a population of 5,971, reflecting its predominantly rural character. Covering an area of 62.57 km², the landscape is dominated by agricultural land (57%) and forests (34%), which supports the development of agriculture and ecotourism. The commune is divided into several village districts, such as Chruścin, Karkoszki, Kletnia, and Wojciechów, which are typical examples of small Polish settlements with regionally distinctive architecture.
