wikipedia
Gorzków-Osada, located in the Lublin Voivodeship, Krasnystaw County, is a village (sołectwo) and the seat of the Gorzków commune. From a historical perspective, the village boasts a rich past, possibly dating back to the 12th/13th century, although precise documentation is lacking. Gorzków first appears in written records in 1359. In 1406, as part of its establishment under Magdeburg Law, Gorzków became an important trade hub with artisans and inns. In the 17th century, the town received city rights granted by John III Sobieski. During the interwar period (Second Polish Republic), it thrived politically and socially, but its development changed after World War II due to battles and occupation. Gorzków also holds religious significance; it is home to a valuable Roman Catholic church dedicated to St. Stanislaus, founded in the 14th century, and a Polish Catholic church dedicated to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Among its heritage sites, the gate bell tower from 1801 and the parish cemetery established in 1795 stand out. With its rich cultural heritage and diverse history, Gorzków is an important point in the region, and its history reflects the broader historical context of Poland, with its political and socio-economic upheavals.
