Goworowo is a rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within Ostrołęka County, with its seat in the village of Goworowo. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Ostrołęka Voivodeship. In 2004, the population of the municipality was 8,767, while according to 2017 data, the number of inhabitants was 8,412, accounting for 9.5% of the county's population. The municipality covers an area of 218.93 km², of which 63% is agricultural land and 29% is forest land, making it an important agricultural and forested area in the region. Over the years, the municipality's authorities have changed, including Franciszek Mierzejewski and Ignacy Cichowiecki as mayors, as well as Jan Podleś and Małgorzata Maria Kulesza as chairs of the municipal council. From a historical perspective, the municipality has had a diverse population; in 1921, it was inhabited by 5,924 people, including many different faiths, reflecting its multicultural character. Among its administrative villages (sołectwa) are Borki, Czernie, Daniłowo, and Młynarze, as well as numerous localities without such status. The municipality borders other municipalities, such as Czerwin, Długosiodło, and Różan, which influences its current location and development opportunities. An interesting fact is the diversity of religions and national affiliations in the municipality's history, which enriches its culture and identity.
