Grądy is a village located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in Dąbrowa County, within the administrative district of Mędrzechów. It covers an area of 723 hectares. The area is characterized by beautiful forested terrain, featuring both state-owned and private forests, with dominant species such as pine, oak, and spruce. The local fauna includes a variety of mammals, birds, and amphibians, making the forests an attractive destination for nature enthusiasts. The history of the village dates back to the Middle Ages, with the first records from 1388. Over the centuries, the village changed hands multiple times, and between the 16th and 19th centuries, it was owned by various noble families. Grądy once had a functioning school and a Public Utility Fire Association, which celebrated its 110th anniversary in 2009. During World War II, the area was a site of operations for the Home Army. In 1946, the village was electrified. Grądy is also known for its local dish, "Blachorze," which was added to the List of Traditional Products in 2013. In the village center, there is a school building that now serves as a kindergarten and library, as well as an obelisk commemorating those who fell in World War I and World War II. Grądy features several chapels and roadside crosses, with the most famous ones dating from 1869 and 2000. The village is also home to the football club AVA Grądy, founded in 1984, which is growing thanks to the support of local sponsors. Throughout its history, the village has undergone various administrative, ownership, and demographic changes, reflecting the rich tradition and culture of the region.
