Gromnik

Gromnik Municipality, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Tarnów County, consists of eight villages: Brzozowa, Chojnik, Golanka, Gromnik, Polichty, Rzepiennik Marciszewski, and Siemiechów. The municipality covers an area of 69.81 km², with agricultural and forest land dominating its landscape. It is characterized by a rich natural environment in the Carpathian Foothills, featuring beautiful scenery, mixed forests, and numerous plant and animal species, including protected ones. The southern part of the municipality lies within the Ciężkowice-Rożnów Landscape Park, while the Educational Center in Polichty offers a nature trail abundant with diverse vegetation. Twelve natural monuments, such as ancient linden and oak trees, are registered within the municipality. The area also boasts mineral springs, providing sulphurous waters known for their healing properties. In terms of transportation, Gromnik has a well-developed road and rail infrastructure, facilitating connections to major cities. Culturally, the municipality is home to preserved historical landmarks, including war cemeteries, churches, and the manor-park complex in Gromnik, all surrounded by rich regional traditions.
