The Volunteer Fire Department in Stróże has a history dating back to 1926 and has been actively operating since 1960, participating in the national rescue and firefighting system. The village of Stróże, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, boasts a rich cultural and historical heritage. The name of the village reflects its historical duties of guarding, and the first mention of Stróże dates back to 1288. Stróże was once under the care of the Benedictine monastery and served as an important strategic point due to its favorable location near trade routes. In the 19th century, Stróże gained significance as a railway station, contributing to the development of infrastructure and settlement. During World War II, the residents participated in the resistance movement, and after the war, the village underwent dynamic development, including electrification and road modernization. In 1966, a new primary school was opened. In 1998, the Foundation for Helping People with Disabilities was established, significantly impacting the development of infrastructure in Stróże. The activities of the sports club KS Kolejarz Stróże, which has achieved success in Polish football, are also noteworthy. Stróże is a venue for numerous cultural events, including performances by the folk ensemble "Kowalnia." In terms of tourism, the village offers hiking and cycling trails, as well as historical attractions such as the War Cemetery No. 131, which is listed in the register of monuments. Stróże also stands out for its unique Beekeeping Museum. The celebration of local traditions and the residents' involvement in social and cultural development make Stróże an interesting place on the map of Lesser Poland.
