Hajnówka Deanery

The Hajnówka Deanery, one of the 11 deaneries in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Drohiczyn, encompasses five parishes: - The Parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Poland in Czeremcha, - The Parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and St. Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr in Hajnówka, - The Parish of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Hajnówka, - The Parish of St. Sigismund in Kleszczele, - The Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr in Narew. Established by decree of Bishop Antoni Dydycz on February 2, 1995, as part of the reorganization of deaneries within the Drohiczyn Diocese, the history of the Hajnówka Deanery, though brief, holds significant importance for the local community. Over the years, the deanery has been led by several deans, starting with Fr. Canon Alfons Trochimiak, followed by Fr. Prelate Marian Świerszczyński, and currently by Fr. Prelate Zbigniew Niemyjski.
