Holy Cross Archaeological-Geological Trail

The Świętokrzyski Archeo-Geological Trail is a tourist route located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, managed by the Regional Tourist Organization. It was opened on August 16, 2011, near the Piekło Cave, and its total length includes the main trail, which starts in Bałtów and ends in Miedzianka, as well as five additional sites. Altogether, it comprises 27 points showcasing the most important geological, paleontological, and archaeological features of the region. The trail includes unique geological objects, such as fossils and rock formations, which hold scientific and educational significance. Culturally, the trail promotes local heritage, highlighting the relationship between humans and nature throughout the centuries. Historically, it draws attention to the rich past of the Świętokrzyskie land, which has witnessed many events in Polish history. An interesting fact is that the trail features not only well-known attractions but also lesser-known sites that hide fascinating stories, making it an inspiring experience for nature, history, and architecture enthusiasts. The trail encourages a deeper exploration of regional values as well as active outdoor recreation.
