wikipedia
The Church of the Holy Trinity in Paszenki, built in the 18th century as a Uniate church, has a rich history that likely began in 1717, thanks to its founders, the Firlej family. In 1875, following the dissolution of the Uniate Diocese of Chełm, it was transferred to the ownership of the Orthodox parish. An expansion of the temple took place in 1890, and its status changed once again in 1930 when it was returned to the Catholic Church. Architecturally, the church is a wooden, single-nave structure built using log construction, oriented along the eight cardinal directions and divided into three parts. The nave takes the form of an octagon, and the altar area, which was expanded after 1890, is enclosed with three sides. A vestibule of the same width as the nave leads to the tower, which was added during the reconstruction. Inside, there is an eight-part dome and a flat ceiling in the remaining sections of the building. The exterior of the temple is adorned with a profiled cornice, and the entire structure is covered by a multi-pitched roof with a square pseudo-lantern. The cultural significance of this church is reflected in its Uniate icon of the Mother of God from the 17th–18th century, as well as 19th-century liturgical objects such as a processional cross, candlesticks, and a folk sculpture of Christ, all of which testify to its historical importance and the cultural heritage of the region. The Church of the Holy Trinity in Paszenki is not only a place of religious worship but also a valuable monument connected to the history and traditions of the local community.
