wikipedia
Iłów is a rural commune (gmina) in the Masovian Voivodeship, within Sochaczew County, with its administrative seat located in the village of Iłów. The commune boasts a rich historical background dating back to the times of the Kingdom of Poland, when it belonged to the Sochaczew County in the Warsaw Governorate. In 1870, Iłów, which had previously lost its town rights, was incorporated into the commune. The commune covers an area of 128.49 km², dominated by agricultural land (76%) and forests (13%). In 2019, the commune had a population of 6,132. Among its sołectwos (village administrative divisions) are Aleksandrów-Wszeliwy, Białocin, Iłów, and Siełków, as well as smaller localities such as Gilówka Dolna and Pieczyska Iłowskie. The commune borders other gminas, including Kiernozia, Kocierzew Południowy, and Słubice. An interesting fact is that the Iłów commune constitutes 17.58% of the area of Sochaczew County, and its demographic structure reflects a diverse distribution of residents by age and gender.
