III Liceum Ogólnokształcące z Oddziałami Dwujęzycznymi im. Marynarki Wojennej RP w Gdyni, also known as Gdyńska Trójka, is a prestigious school with over sixty years of tradition, located in the Wzgórze Św. Maksymiliana district, at Legionów Street. The school has a rich history dating back to 1950, when it was founded as a primary and secondary school. In 1963, it received its current name and introduced English-language instruction. Since then, the school has further developed its educational offerings through the International Baccalaureate program, making Gdyńska Trójka a pioneer in Poland. The school is highly regarded in both national and international rankings and boasts outstanding student achievements in subject Olympiads, including mathematics, computer science, and philosophy. Architecturally, the building housing the school is situated on the northwestern slopes of Wzgórze Nowotki and is an important part of the local educational landscape. With six directors over the years, the school has evolved toward more diverse curricula and innovative teaching methods. Interestingly, the school is under the patronage of the Polish Navy, and its anniversary is celebrated on November 28. Among its notable alumni are prominent figures from various fields, including literature, science, and politics, such as Edward Stachura, Prof. Krzysztof Skóra, and Marcin Horała.
