wikipedia
Kadzidło is a Kurpie village in Poland, located in the Masovian Voivodeship, Ostrołęka County, known for its characteristic architecture typical of small towns. The first mentions of Kadzidło date back to the end of the 17th century, and it was officially established in 1740 when the first church was built. The village was a site of battles during World War II and developed significantly after the war, partly due to the efforts of the then parish priest, Fr. Mieczysław Mieszka. Kadzidło is renowned for its regional culture, and its name is associated with amber processing, which was used to produce incense. Kadzidło features a range of sports facilities and cultural institutions, such as the Kurpie Culture Center, home to the Folk Ensemble "Kurpianka – Cepelia." It is here that the International Folk Festival "Kurpie Wedding" takes place, attracting thousands of tourists. In Kadzidło, visitors can admire landmarks such as the brick-and-metal church fence, the Chapel of the Mother of God, and the neo-Baroque Church of the Holy Spirit from the late 19th century. The village is located in an agricultural region, but many residents work in the service sector. Kadzidło is also the seat of the municipality of the same name, with Dariusz Łukaszewski currently serving as the mayor.
