Jan Kochanowski VI High School in Radom, established in 1912, is one of the oldest educational institutions in Poland, known as the "forge of Olympians." It encompasses a history and tradition tied to the numerous achievements of its students in subject Olympiads, including chemistry, physics, and mathematics. Throughout its presence on the country's educational map, VI High School has gained renown and high positions in national school rankings, securing the 19th and 15th spots in recent years. The school boasts numerous Olympiad achievements: 843 finalists, 232 laureates, and 20 participants in international Olympiads. In the building at 25/27 Kilińskiego Street, to which the high school moved in 1956, various cultural events take place, including celebrations related to the school's anniversaries in 1992, 2012, and 2022. Students learn under the guidance of a qualified teaching staff, which includes notable figures such as the 2010 Teacher of the Year, Marek Golka. It is worth noting that VI High School stands out for its bilingual classes and membership in the UNESCO Associated Schools Network, fostering international cultural and scientific exchange. The school's historical roots are deeply embedded in the realities of the Russian Partition, and its development was stimulated by periods of war and political changes. World War II brought dynamic changes, with students engaging in secret teaching and underground activities, preserving the spirit of patriotism. The school has become a place that not only educates but also shapes the characters of young people, as evidenced by the lives of its alumni and their contributions to society. Among its notable graduates are both artists and politicians, whose achievements are a source of pride for the entire school community. The current principal is M.A. Anna Kołodziejska, supported by M.A. Łucja Banaszkiewicz and M.A. Agnieszka Król as vice-principals.
