Janowiec Wielkopolski, known until the end of 1991 as the municipality of Janowiec, is an urban-rural municipality located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Żnin County. The municipality, whose seat is the town of Janowiec Wielkopolski, is characterized by its picturesque landscape and rich architectural heritage. In terms of land use, agricultural areas account for 84% of the municipality's area, while forests cover 5%, reflecting the region's agricultural character. As of June 30, 2004, the municipality was home to 9,355 people. Among the registered immovable monuments, notable features include manor complexes, such as the one in Brudzyń with a beautiful manor house from 1912 and a park dating back to the late 19th century, as well as the palace in Kołdrąb from the years 1870–1880. The municipality also boasts a wooden parish church in Świątkowo from the 18th century, which captivates with its architecture. It is worth noting that among the non-village settlements, Dębiec and Puzdrowiec stand out, highlighting local diversity.
