Jastrowie is an urban-rural municipality located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within Złotów County, with its administrative seat in the town of Jastrowie. In 1976, the municipality of Jastrowie was granted town rights, and between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Piła Voivodeship. As of June 30, 2004, the municipality had a population of 11,435, which increased to 11,500 by the end of 2019. Covering an area of 353.4 km², the municipality is characterized by 24% agricultural land and as much as 67% forests, making it a region rich in fauna and flora. Jastrowie boasts an interesting sociodemographic structure with diverse village districts such as Brzeźnica, Budy, and Sypniewo, as well as other localities including Byszki and Wądołek.
