Jeżów is an urban-rural municipality located in the Łódź Voivodeship, within Brzeziny County, with its administrative seat in the town of Jeżów. The history of the municipality dates back to 1953, when it was known as the Popień Commune. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality belonged to the Skierniewice Voivodeship. As of December 31, 2007, the municipality had a population of 3,569. It covers an area of 64.09 km², of which 88% is agricultural land and 6% is forested, making it an important agricultural area in the region, accounting for 17.87% of Brzeziny County's total area. The municipality is home to valuable nature reserves, including the Popień Nature Reserve, which protects old-growth pine and alder floodplain forests, and partly the Rawka Nature Reserve, safeguarding the bed of the Rawka River. The area is culturally active, with volunteer fire departments such as OSP Jeżów and OSP Przybyszyce operating within its borders, highlighting the importance of local community and firefighting traditions. In Jeżów and nearby villages such as Góra, Jasienin, and Lubiska, visitors can discover interesting architecture typical of the region, with a particular emphasis on rural buildings.
