The municipality of Jerzmanowice-Przeginia, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, within Kraków County, combines a rich architectural heritage with interesting cultural and historical aspects. The municipality is characterized by numerous monuments, the most important of which are the Church of St. Bartholomew the Apostle in Jerzmanowice and the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Racławice. The former, originally wooden, was built during the reign of Casimir the Great in 1338, while the current structure dates from 1827–1830, with an expansion in 1876. The latter, the Church of St. Catherine in Sąspów, and the Chapel of St. John the Baptist in Jerzmanowice are also protected as immovable monuments. The history of the municipality is interwoven with various religious traditions; besides the Roman Catholic Church, Jehovah's Witnesses have also made their presence known, and in the past, Calvinists, led by Stanisław Szafraniec, established congregations in towns such as Przeginia and Sąspów. The municipality also boasts rich natural potential, situated on the Silesian-Kraków Upland, with characteristic ravines and Upper Jurassic limestones, the highest point of which reaches 512.8 meters above sea level. In 2013, the municipality had a population of 10,743, with the majority of its land bordering agricultural areas (85%) and forests (9%). Jerzmanowice-Przeginia constitutes 5.56% of the area of Kraków County, and the seat of the Municipal Office is located in Jerzmanowice, which plays a central role in the local community. Culturally, the municipality is enriched by diverse religious and social traditions, emphasizing the importance of tolerance and historical changes in spatial development.
