wikipedia
The Juliusz Heinzel Palace, located at 104 Piotrkowska Street in Łódź, is a building constructed in 1882 according to a design by Hilary Majewski. Its architecture combines eclectic and Berlin Renaissance styles, and the structure consists of a three-story main body with side wings and pavilions with towers. The palace facade is adorned with bay windows, a characteristic frieze with cartouches referencing industry and trade, as well as an allegorical sculptural composition depicting Freedom, Industry, and Commerce. In the 20th century, the palace underwent modifications; in the 1950s, it was integrated with factory buildings, converting them into offices and the Meeting Hall of the City National Council. The redesign was carried out by Ignacy Gutman. Today, the building serves administrative functions as the seat of the Voivodeship Office and the Łódź City Office. Since July 29, 1998, the Łódź anthem has been played daily from its balcony, which is an important element of local culture. In front of the palace, there is also the Tuwim's Bench monument, unveiled in 1999, highlighting Łódź's literary significance. The Juliusz Heinzel Palace, listed in the register of monuments, is an important part of the city's architectural and historical heritage.
