Kęsowo is a rural municipality located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Tuchola County, with its administrative seat in the village of Kęsowo. The municipality consists of ten village districts, including Drożdzienica, Grochowo, Jeleńcz, and Żalno. According to data from June 30, 2004, Kęsowo was inhabited by 4,400 residents, and based on the 2005 land use structure, the municipality covers an area of 108.82 km², of which 78% is agricultural land and 11% is forested. The municipality also holds significance at the county level, accounting for 10.12% of its total area.
Kęsowo is home to numerous immovable monuments that reflect its rich architectural and historical heritage. Among these, the manorial park from the second half of the 19th century in Brzuchowo and the church complex of the parish under the patronage of Christ the King in Jeleńcz, with a church built between 1930 and 1932, stand out. The church complex in Kęsowo, originally Evangelical and constructed between 1908 and 1910, now serves as a Roman Catholic church, illustrating the historical socio-religious changes in the region. Also noteworthy is the defensive manor in Żalno, dating back to around 1570, which is a valuable example of defensive architecture.
The municipality of Kęsowo is surrounded by several neighboring municipalities, such as Chojnice, Gostycyn, Kamień Krajeński, Sępólno Krajeńskie, and Tuchola, which contributes to cultural exchange and integration with local communities. Non-administrative villages like Adamkowo, Bralewnica, and Ludwichowo further enrich the municipality's landscape, creating a diverse cultural and social fabric.
