Kamieńsk is an urban-rural municipality located in the Łódź Voivodeship, within the Radomsko County, with its administrative seat in the town of Kamieńsk. The municipality boasts a rich history dating back to the times of the Kingdom of Poland, when it was part of the Piotrków County. In the second half of the 19th century, specifically in 1870, the municipality incorporated the town of Kamieńsk, which had lost its town rights. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Piotrków Voivodeship. Kamieńsk is known for its picturesque landscape, with the highest elevation being Kamieńska Góra, which is the highest peak in central Poland. The municipality includes numerous villages such as Barczkowice, Dąbrowa, and Szpinalów, as well as smaller settlements like Aleksandrów and Huta. According to data from June 30, 2010, Kamieńsk had a population of 6,070, reflecting the region's rich demographic context. The municipality covers an area of 95.81 km², of which 57% is agricultural land and 33% is forested. This constitutes approximately 6.64% of the total area of Radomsko County. From a cultural perspective, the municipality preserves local traditions that are an integral part of the community.
