Kazimierz Wielki High School in Koło

Kazimierz Wielki High School in Koło, the oldest secondary school in the city, was established in 1879 as a four-grade Real School. Its historic architecture has undergone numerous transformations, initially operating in a private house and later moving to a new building opened in 1884, which housed five classrooms, a library, and teacher apartments. In 1926, the school gained state status, and in the 1930s, it underwent further organizational changes, adapting its teaching profiles to meet students' needs. After World War II, the school changed locations multiple times, and in the 1980s and 1990s, construction began on a new building. The high school stands out for its rich cultural life, organizing events such as Dziecinada (Children's Festival), the Creativity Fair, and Francophone Days, which promote student talents and foster community integration. Among its notable features are modern equipment, including 3D printers, as well as the relocation of commemorative plaques honoring the school's history and students who died in World War II. Today, the school offers diverse teaching profiles, including polytechnic, legal, medical, and IT programs, adapting to evolving educational needs. The current principal is Romuald Adamek, and the school continues its long educational tradition, contributing to the development of the local community.
