Kleczew is an urban-rural municipality located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within the Konin County, with its administrative seat in the town of Kleczew itself. The history of the municipality dates back to 1870, when it was known as the Budzisław Commune. Between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Konin Voivodeship. According to data from the end of 2017, the population was 9,991, while the 2021 census recorded 9,649 inhabitants. The municipality covers an area of 110.12 km², of which 75% is agricultural land and only 1% is covered by forests. The municipality is an important cultural hub in the region, with numerous organizations, including Volunteer Fire Departments and Rural Housewives' Circles, which engage local communities in various initiatives.
