Koszyce, formerly known as the municipality of Filipowice until 1931, is an urban-rural municipality located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, within the Proszowice County. The municipality has its seat in the town of Koszyce, and its area covers 65.96 km². The land use is predominantly agricultural, accounting for as much as 88% of the area, while forested land constitutes only 2%. Representing 15.91% of the total area of the county, the municipality was inhabited by 5,697 people in 2004, and by 2017, the population had decreased to 5,519 residents.
