The Kobylin Commune is an urban-rural municipality located in the southwestern part of the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within Krotoszyn County, with its administrative seat in the town of Kobylin. Historically, the commune belonged to the Leszno Voivodeship until 1998. According to data from June 30, 2004, the commune had 8,022 inhabitants, and in 2002 it covered an area of 112.37 km², of which 80% was agricultural land and 11% was covered by forests. The Kobylin Commune plays an important transportation role, as the national road No. 36, connecting Ostrów Wielkopolski with Lubin, runs through its territory, along with two railway lines: Leszno–Ostrów Wielkopolski and Kobylin–Rawicz. The commune includes numerous village administrative units (sołectwa), such as Berdychów, Długołęka, Fijałów, and many others, as well as localities without the status of a sołectwo, including Biała Róża and Kuklinów, which is a forest settlement. The commune borders five other municipalities: Jutrosin, Krotoszyn, Pępowo, Pogorzela, and Zduny. In a cultural context, Kobylin and its surroundings are known for local traditions and events that cultivate regional customs and foster community integration. The commune boasts a rich cultural heritage, and its history is intertwined with the development of the Greater Poland region.
