Kobylniki is a village in Poland, located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within Kościan County, in the administrative district of Gmina Kościan. It lies southwest of Kościan, near National Road No. 5. Its history dates back to the Middle Ages, with the first recorded mention in 1398. The village had strong ties to the local Greater Polish nobility, including the Kokorzyński, Kobielnicki, and Kotowiecki families. Architecturally, Kobylniki is known for its historic manor house from the late 18th century and the surrounding landscape park, which is home to protected monument trees. The estate also includes farm buildings and a gardener's house, adding to the historical character of the place. From a cultural perspective, it is noteworthy that in the 19th century, the village had 78 inhabitants, all of Roman Catholic faith. A significant moment in its history was its transformation into a Prussian estate in 1793 following the Second Partition of Poland. An interesting fact is that Leon Drożyński, a dermatologist and social activist, was born in Kobylniki, highlighting the village's role in local social endeavors. The village was also mentioned in tax records, reflecting its economic development over the centuries. From 1975 to 1998, Kobylniki belonged to the Leszno Voivodeship. Today, a yellow hiking trail passes through the village, making it an attractive destination for tourists.
