Kocierzew Południowy

Kocierzew Południowy is a rural municipality located in the Łódź Voivodeship, within the Łowicz County, with its administrative seat in the village of the same name. Formerly known as the Kompina Commune, the municipality was part of the Skierniewice Voivodeship between 1975 and 1998. Covering an area of 93.70 km², the commune is predominantly agricultural, with farmland accounting for 93% of its territory and forests making up only 2%. As of December 31, 2010, it was home to 4,573 residents, representing 9.48% of the total area of Łowicz County. Despite its modest size, Kocierzew Południowy boasts a wealth of rural architecture, regarded by many as an example of traditional Polish construction, with houses reflecting the local style.
