The municipality of Koczała, located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship within the Człuchów County, comprises seven village districts (sołectwa): Bielsko, Koczała, Łękinia, Pietrzykowo, Starzno, Trzyniec, and Załęże, with its administrative seat in Koczała. In 2017, the municipality had a population of 3,403 residents. From a historical perspective, the area boasts a rich architectural heritage, including several historic churches. Particularly notable is the wooden church from 1617 located in Starzno, as well as the 17th-century church in Pietrzykowo, which has retained its original architectural features. Another interesting site is the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary from 1902, equipped with valuable elements such as a baptismal font from 1770 and an 18th-century pulpit. The municipality also offers tourist attractions, including kayaking trips on the Brda River. In terms of land use, the municipality covers an area of 223.39 km², with forested areas dominating at 67.7% of the territory, and agricultural land accounting for 26%. Key nature conservation areas include the Bagnisko Niedźwiady Nature Reserve and Lake Cęgi Małe, highlighting the municipality's rich natural resources.
