The Koniecpol Municipality, located in the Silesian Voivodeship, covers an area of 146.75 km², which constitutes 9.66% of the Częstochowa County. The land use structure of the municipality is diverse, with 58% allocated to agricultural land and 24% to forested areas. The municipality comprises several village administrative districts (sołectwa), including Aleksandrów-Michałów, Dąbrowa, Kuźnica Grodziska, and Wólka. The seat of the municipality is the town of Koniecpol, which boasts a rich history tied to its former affiliation with the Nowo-Radomski District in the Kingdom of Poland, as well as its subsequent loss of town rights in the 19th century.
The population of the municipality has been declining: in 2007, it was home to 10,606 people, while by 2017, the number had decreased to 9,605. Neighboring municipalities include Dąbrowa Zielona, Lelów, Przyrów, Secemin, Szczekociny, Włoszczowa, and Żytno. The municipality also includes settlements without village administrative status, such as Borek, Kozaków, and Teresów.
An interesting fact is that in 2014, an age pyramid of the inhabitants was created, which may indicate ongoing demographic analyses of the municipality. Koniecpol Municipality combines architectural aspects, such as traditional rural buildings, with a rich local culture, making it an interesting place not only to live but also to visit.
