Konstantynów Łódzki, a town in the Łódź Voivodeship, is situated on the Łask Upland, on the Ner River, within the Łódź agglomeration. With a population of 19,200 (as of 2023), the town covers an area of 27.25 km², 68% of which is agricultural land. The history of Konstantynów dates back to 1821, when it was established as a factory settlement, and it received town rights in 1830. The town experienced numerous historical upheavals, including the loss of its town rights in 1870 and their reinstatement in 1924. During World War II, Konstantynów was incorporated into the Third Reich and suffered brutal repression against its Polish and Jewish populations. The town features historical monuments such as the Evangelical church, now the Roman Catholic Parish of St. Joseph the Worker, dating from 1834–1923. Architecturally, the town has retained its original layout with two market squares and a grid of perpendicular streets. Culturally, Konstantynów is a hub of cultural activity with numerous organizations, such as the Fryderyk Chopin Konstantynów Singing and Drama Association. The town has an active public library with a rich offering, including publishing activities.
