wikipedia
The Kosiński Palace in Połażejewo, probably built for Witold and Maria Kosiński, is a two-story eclectic architectural structure with elements of classicism. Its cubic capacity is 3,186 m³, and its area is 739 m². The building consists of three irregular masses, with the main body on a rectangular plan, featuring a flat roof and an attic. The facades are distinguished by the rhythm of rectangular windows with frames and richly decorated terraces. The palace is surrounded by a landscape park from the end of the 19th century, and the building has the status of a monument entered in the register. The history of Połażejewo dates back to the 15th century when the village was owned by Mikołaj and Świętosław Polojewski. Over the centuries, it passed into the hands of various owners, including the Gniezno Chapter and General Henryk Dąbrowski. In the 19th century, the estate passed into the hands of the Mańkowski family, and then the Czartoryski, Golski, and Boening families, who introduced significant modifications. Kazimierz Boening, the last owner before World War II, was shot by the German authorities in 1939. After the war, the estate came under state management, and the palace was subject to devastation for years. In 1998, the property was sold, and between 2007 and 2011, it underwent comprehensive revitalization, which was recognized in a local tourism competition. The palace and park have regained their former splendor, and their surroundings are shrouded in legends about the ghost of a soldier and tragic events related to the dogs of the former owners.
