Krasnystaw is a rural municipality located in the Lublin Voivodeship, within Krasnystaw County, with its administrative seat in the town of Krasnystaw. The municipality is an interesting destination both in terms of nature and culture. The preserved architecture and the landscape of the Giełczew Upland, home to the Wodny Dół nature reserve rich in rare plant species, attract nature enthusiasts. The municipality covers an area of 150.96 km², of which 71% is agricultural land and 18% is forested, highlighting the region's predominantly agricultural character. From a demographic perspective, the population has decreased from 9,172 in 2006 to 8,679 in 2017. The municipality consists of numerous villages, such as Białka, Niemienice, and Stężyca. It is also worth noting the neighboring municipalities, such as Gorzków and Izbica, which contribute to the rich regional context. The Arian Trail running through the municipality serves as a tourist attraction, offering opportunities to explore the beauty of the local landscapes. An interesting fact is that from 1975 to 1998, the municipality was part of the Chełm Voivodeship, adding a layer of historical context to its contemporary character.
