Kroczyce

The municipality of Kroczyce, located in the Silesian Voivodeship within Zawiercie County, is an area with a rich administrative history, having belonged to various voivodeships over time, and boasts an interesting demographic structure. The seat of the municipality is Kroczyce, and as of June 30, 2004, the municipality was inhabited by 6,212 people. It comprises 20 village districts, such as Biała Błotna, Przyłubsko, and Siemięrzyce, reflecting a diverse settlement pattern. The municipality covers an area of 110.15 km², of which 59% is agricultural land and 30% is forested, making it exceptionally attractive in terms of natural environment. Kroczyce is also characterized by cultural diversity, expressed through local traditions and community events. The municipality changed its administrative affiliation several times since the pre-World War II period, which influenced its development and the residents' sense of identity. An interesting fact is that between 1954 and 1972, the municipality did not exist, which is a unique aspect of its history.
