Kuźnica is a rural municipality in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, within the Sokółka County, located in close proximity to Belarus. Its administrative seat is the village of Kuźnica, which also serves as the center of municipal life. The municipality was established as a result of administrative reform, and between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Białystok Voivodeship. The municipality covers an area of 133.41 km², of which approximately 73% is agricultural land and 19% is forested. This gives the area rich natural resources, attracting nature lovers and agro-tourism enthusiasts. In 2004, the municipality had a population of 4,312, reflecting its small yet close-knit community. The municipality consists of numerous village districts, such as Achrymowce, Białobłockie, Bilminy, and many others, where local traditions are preserved. An interesting fact is the presence of the village Szymaki, which does not have the status of a village district but plays an important role in the local social structure. Kuźnica and its surroundings are areas with rich cultural traditions, blending both Polish and Belarusian influences. The municipality is known for its local festivals, which combine elements of folklore and regional cuisine. The architecture of local buildings, especially traditional wooden houses characteristic of the region, is also noteworthy.
