Lech Coaster is a steel roller coaster manufactured by Vekoma, located in the Magical Mountains themed area of Legendia Park in Chorzów. It is the fourth fastest and tallest roller coaster in Poland, and its theming draws inspiration from the legendary figure of Lech, associated with the founding of the Polish state. The coaster won 2nd place in the European Star Award ranking for the best new roller coasters in Europe in 2017 and received the FKF Award in 2018. A ride on Lech Coaster is a dynamic experience that begins with a 40-meter ascent, followed by a steep drop, rotations, and inversions, including corkscrews. The theming is deeply rooted in Polish cultural heritage, with decorations evoking a Piast-era settlement and a media introduction to the legend of Lech. The coaster was built between 2016 and 2017, and the construction process required the temporary closure of a nearby cable railway. Prior to its opening, a series of tests were conducted, including a media preview ride. The design was inspired not only by technological aspects but also by a connection to Polish history, symbolized by the installation of a white-tailed eagle figure—the final thematic element—added in 2018. Lech Coaster not only delivers thrilling entertainment but also combines architectural and cultural elements, making it a significant tourist attraction in the region.
