The Kruczkowski Housing Estate in Kłodzko is a modern district located in the western part of the city, inhabited by approximately 9,000 residents. It was designed as an autonomous unit with full infrastructure, consisting mainly of residential buildings constructed using large-panel technology. The estate comprises 12 streets, with one of its most notable features being one of the longest block-of-flats buildings in Poland, measuring 603 meters in length.
The history of the estate dates back to the 1960s, when mass housing construction began in response to Kłodzko's growing population. The construction process was never fully completed, and the final blocks were built in the 1990s using new technologies. The estate is home to Primary School No. 3, various services including pharmacies and multi-branch stores, as well as a medical clinic.
The estate also serves as a hub for cultural activities, with initiatives organized by the school and the Christian Culture Center. Shared green spaces include parks and lawns, with the Park Przyjaciół Wojsk Górskich (Mountain Military Friends Park) as a key recreational area.
An interesting fact is that the estate was named in honor of Leon Kruczkowski, a renowned Polish writer and playwright associated with the region. The area is also well-connected by public transportation, making it an accessible part of Kłodzko.
