wikipedia
Leszno Dworzec Mały was a decommissioned railway station located in Leszno at Dworcowa Street, approximately 350 meters from the main station. The station was established on June 11, 1914, through the cooperation of the Kingdom of Prussia, the Province of Poznań, and local districts and towns, including Góra and Ścinawa. The Leszno–Góra–Ścinawa Small Railway Joint Stock Company was formed, headquartered in Góra. The first passenger journey on the nearly 60-kilometer route from Leszno through Góra to Krzelów took place on September 15, 1916. The line ran parallel to the tracks of the Wrocław Główny–Poznań Główny route and also crossed the state railway line Bojanowo–Odrzycko. After World War I and the Greater Poland Uprising, the line lost its significance, and following the border changes in 1918, it fell out of use. In 1920, the Leszno–Laskowa section was closed, and in 1922, it was dismantled. Services to Leszno were never resumed, not even during World War II. The average travel time between Leszno and Krzelów was 3 hours, resulting in an average speed of around 20 km/h. The line was operated using T3 steam locomotives, passenger and baggage cars, as well as freight trains. After the station was decommissioned, the building was repurposed; during the Polish People's Republic era, it housed, among other things, a barbershop and a dental office. Leszno Dworzec Mały reflects the architectural and cultural changes in the region, serving as a witness to historical and transportation transformations in Poland.
