Lovers from Kamienna Street

The fountain-relief "Lovers from Kamienna Street", dedicated to Agnieszka Osiecka, is located in Łódź at Włókiennicza Street, in a place of great cultural significance for the city. The sculpture was unveiled on June 25, 2004. The monument commemorates the years 1957–1962, when Osiecka studied at the Łódź Film School. The author of the relief is Wojciech Gryniewicz, whose work depicts two young people hiding from the rain under an ortalion coat. The bronze sculpture captures the atmosphere of the era, referencing the popularity of ortalion clothing at that time. The relief not only attracts attention with its artistic value but also serves as a vivid reminder of the 1960s culture, in which Osiecka's work is rooted. Water, which sprays onto the faces of the figures, symbolizes a rainy mist that appears for 5 minutes each day, adding dynamism and a refreshing effect to the sculpture. Additionally, the refrain of a song is engraved on the relief, emphasizing the connection between sculptural art and music. Due to its location and theme, the fountain-relief is an important element of Łódź's urban landscape, blending architecture and history with the work of one of Poland's most outstanding poets and writers.
