The municipality, which was part of the Elbląg Voivodeship until 1998, covers an area of 157.09 km², dominated by agricultural land (54%) and forests (37%). Demographically, the municipality has seen a decline in population, from 4,456 inhabitants in 2018 to 4,406 in 2019. Settlements within the municipality include Błudowo, Kobyliny, Myśliniec, Stare Monasterzysko, and Włóczyska.
