wikipedia
Marcinów is a small rural administrative village in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, located in the Kłodzko Valley, characterized by a rich history dating back to at least the mid-14th century. In the Middle Ages, it was an agricultural settlement, and the first records of the village come from 1369, when a knight's fief was established. In the 15th century, Marcinów came into the hands of the von Panwitz family, and over the following centuries, it had many owners, including the counts von Götzen and von Magnis. Despite belonging to various states, the village remained primarily agricultural. After World War II, as a result of resettlements, the German population was replaced by Polish settlers from the Eastern Borderlands. Marcinów has limited transport infrastructure, is distant from main communication routes, and the nearest railway station is located in Żelazno. In terms of education, children attend primary school in Żelazno, and teenagers attend middle school in Kłodzko. The village's culture is tied to its agricultural character and the filial chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Jasna Góra. Architecturally, the large manor farm buildings and the Baroque-Classicist chapel stand out, testifying to the region's rich past. Interestingly, in the 14th century, Marcinów had a free, hereditary judiciary office that survived until 1945. Additionally, the area around the village is geologically interesting, with occurrences of rare minerals such as garnets and tourmalines, and there are also old quarries in the area. Despite demographic stagnation, Marcinów still retains its rural, agricultural character.
