Mieścisko

The Municipality of Mieścisko, located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship within Wągrowiec County, is an urban-rural municipality with its seat in the town of Mieścisko. It covers an area of 135.62 km², and according to data from 2019, its population was 5,937 residents, indicating a slight decrease compared to previous years. The municipality borders the municipalities of Wągrowiec, Janowiec Wielkopolski, Kłecko, and Skoki, and is traversed by the Wełna River. The land use structure of the municipality is diverse, with agricultural land dominating (77%) followed by forests (15%). Among the residents, people of working age predominate (62.2%), and the average age of inhabitants is 38 years. The municipality records a positive natural increase due to a higher birth rate compared to the number of deaths. In the Municipality of Mieścisko, visitors can discover various tourist attractions, including the natural monument – the Stone of St. Adalbert in Budziejewko, and wooden churches such as the Church of St. Anne in Podlesie Kościelne from 1712 and the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Popowo Kościelne from 1629.
