Milejów is a rural commune located in the Lublin Voivodeship, within the Łęczna County, boasting a rich history dating back to the times when the Brzeziny commune existed with its seat in Milejów. According to the concept of P. Swianiewicz and U. Klimska, the commune is part of the Lublin agglomeration. The administrative seat of the commune is the village of Milejów, where the administrative building is situated within the Milejów-Osada administrative district. As of June 30, 2004, Milejów was inhabited by 9,286 people, and according to 2002 data, the commune covers an area of 115.66 km², of which 77% is agricultural land and 14% is forested. The commune constitutes 18.25% of the area of Łęczna County. It comprises numerous administrative districts, including Antoniów, Białka, Cyganka, Dąbrowa, Jaszczów, Kajetanówka, and Milejów-Osada. Due to its location, Milejów has significant development potential, as well as an interesting demographic structure visible in the 2014 population age pyramid. The region features traditional rural landscapes and architecture, along with unique cultural elements that attract both tourists and residents. The commune borders other municipalities, such as Łęczna, Mełgiew, Piaski, and Trawniki, which expands its opportunities for local cooperation and development.
