wikipedia
Moszna is a village in the Opole Voivodeship, located in the Racibórz Valley, historically part of Upper Silesia. The settlement was first mentioned in 1650. The central point of Moszna is the palace and park complex, listed in the register of historical monuments, with elements dating from the 18th to the 20th centuries, including the palace, outbuildings, and stables. The palace, which served as the main residence of the Tiele-Winckler family, has a rich history, traces of which can also be seen in archaeological discoveries. The park features avenues of ancient trees and fragments of historic buildings, attracting tourists and history enthusiasts. Moszna hosts the annual Festival of Blooming Azaleas, showcasing music by Polish and German composers as well as art exhibitions. The villagers cultivate regional traditions, using the Prudnik dialect, and Moszna is home to a significant German minority. After World War II, Moszna underwent a series of administrative and architectural changes, reflecting the socio-cultural dynamics of the region. An interesting fact is that in 1948, a stud farm was established here, known for breeding Thoroughbred horses. Moszna is well-connected, with bus services and a disused railway stop. In 2020, the construction of a bicycle path was completed, highlighting the growing interest in tourism in this picturesque village. Thanks to its rich historical and cultural heritage, Moszna is a place that attracts both tourists and history lovers.
