Mrągowo is a rural municipality located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, within Mrągowo County, with its administrative seat in the town of Mrągowo. Covering an area of 294.87 km², the municipality is characterized by a significant proportion of agricultural land (61%) and forests (19%). Between 1975 and 1998, it belonged to the Olsztyn Voivodeship. According to data from the end of 2019, the municipality had a population of 7,975 people. The main tourist attraction is Góra Czterech Wiatrów (Four Winds Hill), known for its ski lift, with additional attractions such as Indiana Park and Snowpark planned for development. Mrągowo Municipality borders the municipalities of Kętrzyn, Mikołajki, Reszel, Ryn, and Sorkwity, which supports tourism growth and provides easy access to regional attractions.
