wikipedia
Mycielin is a village located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within the Kalisz County, serving as the administrative seat of the gmina (municipality) of the same name. The settlement boasts a rich history dating back to at least 1324, when it was mentioned as Mynzelino and was then owned by the Cistercian monastery. Mycielin is known as the ancestral home of the Mycielski noble family of the Dołęga coat of arms, and over the centuries it changed hands multiple times due to intergenerational inheritance and sales. In the 19th and 20th centuries, Mycielin played a significant economic role, with developed sugar beet cultivation and modern agricultural practices. Architecturally, it stands out for its manor-park complex, which includes a manor house from 1915, now serving as the municipal community center, and a historic landscape park dating back to the mid-19th century. The area also features other historical buildings, such as a late 19th-century granary that has been adapted into a restaurant and hotel. Culturally, Mycielin is reflected in the activities of the Mycielin Youth Brass Band of the Volunteer Fire Department and the involvement of the local Volunteer Fire Department. An interesting fact is that the village is located along the Amber Bicycle Route, making it an attractive destination for tourists. With its abundant natural resources, rich history, and traditions, Mycielin is an important point on the regional map, combining architectural, cultural, and historical values.
