Myszyniec is an urban-rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within Ostrołęka County, with the town of Myszyniec serving as its administrative seat. The municipality was established in 1868 in the Kingdom of Poland from the territory of the abolished Stary Myszyniec commune. In 1870, the town of Myszyniec, which had been stripped of its town rights, was incorporated into the municipality, while several villages were transferred to the Wach commune. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Ostrołęka Voivodeship. Covering an area of 228.59 km², the municipality is characterized by a significant presence of nature, with 71% of its land dedicated to agricultural use and 24% covered by forests. Demographic data shows that in 1921, the population was 7,671, while in 2004 and 2019, it numbered 10,250 and 10,437 inhabitants, respectively. The municipality includes villages such as Białusny Lasek, Charciabałda, and Zalesie. Myszyniec boasts a rich history and diverse cultural traditions.
