The National Museum of Agriculture and Agricultural-Food Industry in Szreniawa, established in 1964 as the Museum of Agriculture, was granted national museum status in 1975. It adopted its current name in 1986 and is currently under the supervision of both the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Agriculture. The museum is the only one of its kind in Poland and one of the largest in Europe, housing over 20,000 exhibits related to the history of the Polish countryside, agriculture, and the agricultural-food industry. The National Museum in Szreniawa plays a vital role in preserving cultural heritage and educating the public. It is also a member of the International Association of Agricultural Museums (AIMA) and the Polish National Committee of ICOM. In 2012, it hosted the 5th International Conservation Conference, and in 2014, it received the "Dobosz Powstania Wielkopolskiego" statuette. In 2020, it was awarded the Tourism Leader title in a competition organized by the magazine Życie Regionów. The museum has five branches: the Nature and Hunting Museum in Uzarzewo, the Mill and Water Equipment of Rural Industry Museum in Jaracz, the Wickerwork and Hop Growing Museum in Nowy Tomyśl, the Open-Air Museum and Beekeeping Museum in Swarzędz, and the Meat Industry Museum in Sielinko, highlighting its thematic diversity. The museum not only focuses on the historical aspects of agriculture but also promotes the natural, technological, and cultural heritage of the region.
