The Municipality of Niepołomice, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, within the Wieliczka County, is an urban-rural municipality with its seat in Niepołomice. In 2022, it had a population of 32,781 residents. The municipality boasts a rich history dating back to times when other municipalities and the town of Niepołomice existed within its area, prior to the administrative reform of 1976, when it became part of the Kraków Voivodeship. Architecturally, the town is distinguished by Niepołomice Castle, a valuable example of Renaissance architecture, which served not only defensive but also residential and representative functions. The culture of the municipality reflects the diversity of religious communities, including primarily the Roman Catholic Church, which has six parishes here, and a congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
