The municipality of Nowy Wiśnicz, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, covers an area of 82.49 km². Its landscape is dominated by agricultural land (65%) and forests (26%), and the municipality constitutes 13.06% of the area of Bochnia County. Historically, the municipality has undergone various administrative changes; until 1954 it was called Wiśnicz Nowy, and between 1976 and 1982 it operated under the name Nowy Wiśnicz-Lipnica. The municipal seat is located in Nowy Wiśnicz itself, whose population at the end of 2013 was 13,448 people. The municipality borders seven other municipalities, including Bochnia and Brzesko. Among its villages, Chronów, Kobyle, Królówka, and Stary Wiśnicz stand out. Interestingly, the municipality is a member of the Union of Polish Towns, which may indicate its commitment to the development of local communities and the promotion of regional traditions. In 2014, demographic studies were conducted, illustrated by an age pyramid of the inhabitants, allowing for an analysis of the local community's age structure. Architecturally, the municipality is known for its charming buildings and interesting historical sites, making it an interesting place from a tourist perspective.
