Ołdrzychowice Kłodzkie

Ołdrzychowice Kłodzkie, also known as Ullersdorf, is a rural administrative village in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, rich in history and traditions dating back to the early 14th century. The village developed along an old trade route, with the first recorded mention in 1342. During the Middle Ages, Ołdrzychowice was recognized as an important agricultural and industrial center, with a diverse social structure and a notable Protestant presence in the 16th century. The village features a linear layout centered around the main Kłodzka Street, where significant architectural landmarks are located, such as the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist, first mentioned in 1392, and the Mausoleum of the Imperial Counts von Magnis. The rural architecture, including the remains of the von Magnis palace, reflects a variety of styles, including eclecticism and Baroque. In the 19th century, Ołdrzychowice gained industrial importance with a developed flax production industry, evidenced by former manufacturing plants. In the 20th century, the village became a recognized summer resort, attracting tourists with its beautiful landscapes. Contemporary cultural life is primarily organized by the Center for Culture, Sports, and Recreation, as well as the Rural Housewives' Circle and the Jaskier singing group. Local traditions and cultural activities are maintained through various initiatives, blending modernity with a rich historical heritage. Thanks to its location in the Biała Lądecka Valley and the surrounding picturesque mountainous terrain, Ołdrzychowice Kłodzkie is also a popular destination for sports such as paragliding and hiking along tourist trails. The history of the village—from its colonization by Czechs, through Prussian and German influences, to Polish settlement after World War II—forms a fascinating cultural mosaic that remains alive in the memory of its inhabitants.
